Privacy policy

FirstFiling Leads is run by me, Hyrum, a sole proprietor in Idaho ([email protected]). This page explains, in plain words, what I collect and what I do with it.

What I collect from you

• When you sign up for the sample or trial: your name, email, company (if you give it), the kind of work you do, and the state and county you picked.
• When you pay: Stripe handles checkout. I see your name, email, billing address and which plan you bought. I never see or store your full card number.
• When you're a paying customer: I track whether the daily emails get opened and the files get downloaded. That's so I can tell if the list is useful to you and send a tip if it isn't.
• When you visit the site: the site doesn't use ad trackers or analytics cookies. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard technical logs (like IP address and browser type) for security.

What I do with it

• Send you what you signed up for: the sample, the trial, or your paid list.
• Send a few follow-up emails about the paid plans. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
• Answer your questions, handle billing and refunds, and keep records the law requires.

What I don't do

• I don't sell, rent or trade your information. Not to anybody.
• I don't sell data about my customers or site visitors.
• I don't add you to someone else's mailing list.

Who else touches it

A few services I use to run the business: Cloudflare (website and signup storage), Stripe (payments), an email delivery service (to send your emails), and Google (only if you use the live Google Sheet). They process your info only to provide their service to me.

Unsubscribing

Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're off within 10 business days, usually much sooner, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires. You can also just reply or email me. If you're a paying customer, unsubscribing from marketing won't stop the list you paid for. Cancel the plan for that.

Keeping or deleting your info

I keep signup info while you're getting emails from me, and billing records as long as tax law requires. Email me and I'll delete everything else or send you a copy of what I have.

About the businesses in the lists

The lists are made from public Secretary of State business filings. They can include the names of organizers or registered agents and business addresses, because that's what the state publishes. I don't add phone numbers, personal emails or anything from outside the public record.

Remove your info

The filings are public records published by the state. If you're listed in one and want out, email [email protected] with the business name and state. I'll stop including your contact details in future deliveries within about 10 business days, and I'll take your business out of anything I publish publicly (like a newsletter or web page) within 2 business days. I can't change the state's own records, so the filing will still be on the state's site.

Kids

This is a business service. It isn't meant for anyone under 18 and I don't knowingly collect info from children.

Changes

If I change this policy in a way that matters, I'll update the date at the top and email paying customers.
